Learning is a comprehensive and continuous process. A person learns lifetime. Sometimes he teaches by teachers, friends, society and sometimes he learns by other mediums. Books are a source of learning, but there should be other mediums for teaching learning also. In a school, there may be a lot of teaching learning activities should be done. It needs a strong willpower of teachers, society's positive attitude towards the school and a good harmony among the teachers and students.

We are talking about learning outside classroom. Outside the classroom, there are different learning materials for teachers. Teachers have to find learning opportunities outside the classrooms and make it easy and interesting the students learning outside classroom.

Learning By Visiting: Learning Outside Classroom

Visit is an innovative learning activity for schools. It is a creative activity of learning outside the classroom. Although it has a great risk but it has a greater educational importance also. Visiting and educational visits are the great sources of learning. What do we mean by educational visiting and visits? Visiting is an activity, where we visits anything and learn by that. In a school there is a great educational importance of educational visits. Visiting is an activity that makes learning possible outside the classroom. I am discussing about an educational visit done in my school. It was a day when we were celebrating "The world Hand washing Day". We have to demonstrate the importance of hand washing to the students. We had done all formalities, than we arrange a very small visit in the village. In that village there was a progressive farmer who made "Wormy Compost Plant" and "Gobar Gas (Bio Gas) Plant" in his house. We arrange a small visit to learn about these non traditional sources of energy and the organic manure. We went to that house and told the farmer to demonstrate the functions and importance of these things. He explained the proper mechanism of those plants and the importance also. All students learn these things with an innovative attitude. After the visiting that plants, we discussed about them in our classroom and ask the question to students. We were able to teach the students by visiting method. Now students were able to explain that things without book reading. Hence the chapter of "Bio Gas" and "The Organic Manure" was taught by visiting method.

The different Educational outdoor activities for schools

In a school there may be different types visiting activities. Learning outside the school or learning outside the classroom is a well planned activity for schools. We may classified them in several activities. We may arrange the visit of success persons, he other school visits, local visits, local area visits, local environmental visits , field visits etc. Teachers have a greater responsibilities in these outside classroom activities. Teacher has to clear the objectives, importance and safety issues to the parents when he plan such outside educational activities. In our teacher’s teaching training programs, we have to put some topics on “teacher’s role as a facilitator in learning”, because now a day’s it is being more fascinating in smart and active teaching learning methodologies. In this post we are discussing about the role of a teacher in a smart school’s smart class. First we discuss about what is a smart school? A smart school is a modern school using smart and active technologies in classroom teaching as well as school management. It is the technological aspect of the smart school, somewhere there should be various schools that are smart without the help of any technological support and appropriate infrastructure. Hence it is not our topic of discussion. We are discussing about smart school and smart class using internet, e learning approaches and multimedia devices to make school and classroom smart and modern. It is the next generation of classrooms. Now traditional learning is being replaced by "smart learning".

What is a smart class?

Smart class is a modern and smart class using multimedia, internet and e learning devices in classroom teaching. These classes are something different to traditional classes, because traditional classes use traditional teaching learning devices. Smart classroom is a "White board classroom", using white board (Projector), computers and multimedia in classroom teaching learning. In future we may hear some new word for our classroom; such as "Digiclass", white board classroom or e Based classroom. "Smart Class" is a modernized method of teaching learning techniques. Our education is going to be modernized and is going to be using “Interactive white board teaching learning techniques in schools”.

What the role of a teacher in a smart class?

We have discussed about smart school and smart class, so it will be easy to understand about smart class education. We have to realize the difference between the traditional teaching learning and the smart teaching learning methodologies. Traditional teaching learning system is something different than modern teaching learning system. In modern active and innovative learning system teacher’s role is going to be as a facilitator. So in smart class, it is clear that teacher’s role will be as a facilitator.

Teacher should be an expert of smart learning, e learning and online education:

Teacher should be an expert to smart learning and smart education. He should be trained for it. He has to know how to use computers and internet in classroom teaching-learning. Teachers have to know the innovative use of smart and innovative teaching learning.

Teacher has to know how to use interactive learning technology in classroom. In a smart class, it may be possible to use interactive learning technology through online learning. Online education and eLearning will be the more attractive aspect of smart school classes in future.

Teacher should be friendly with students:

Teacher should be friendly with students. If teacher is friendly with student, students can ask any question to the teacher. Students feel easy to solve doubt with a friendly teacher. Sometimes teachers have to find out student’s interests and creativity, the friendly nature of the teachers makes students easy to use their creativity.

Teacher should have a great attitude to smart education:

If teacher do not have a proper attitude in smart education, we cannot find desired output from smart class and smart education.

Teacher should be a facilitator in learning:

Teacher should be as a facilitator in learning. It will be very nice if teacher’s role will be as a facilitator in learning. Smart learning makes students easy to learn with multimedia, computers and internet. Teacher has to facilitate them in learning. He has to teach students how to learn from multimedia, internet and the other innovative means of learning.

TEACHER AS A FACILITATOR IN LEARNING

The role of teacher is changing in smart and active learning methodologies. Now teacher is as a facilitator in learning. Teaching and learning are being modified due to innovations in education. In this article we are discussing about teacher's role in changing learning environment.
Teaching is the well known word for teachers. Teachers know the meaning of this word and know how to perform teaching. Sometimes they do not know the difference between teaching and facilitating in learning and it make a distance between the students and teachers. We have to understand the difference between “teaching” and ‘facilitating in learning” because the both words are correlated with each other. Teaching is an activity which is helping the student in learning. In several classes teachers go to the class, teach the students, supply the homework and do some daily routine activities and “finish”. How much achieve the students, it is another question and it is not a matter for teacher….! Why.....?

Instead of “to help the students in learning” or “facilitate the students in learning” is a quite fascinating and gentle concept. If teacher think that every student should be sound in his subject is his duty than teaching-learning process become innovative, active and interesting. In our classrooms teachers have to change his attitude about teaching process.
Teachers should become mentors and they should make students learn. Teaching means teacher is doing the act of teaching. Learning means students are doing the act of learning.

Discussing about Active Learning Methodology, we find the importance of facilitating in learning. In active learning methodology, teachers help the students in learning. Thus the entire classroom environment is changed. Actually active learning methodology focuses on helping in learning and facilitating in learning. Active learning methodologies include several activities in classroom; such as reading, making mind maps and group presentation and engage the student whole time. Active learning methodologies are very effective to find out students creativity and talent. Active learning methodologies are very smart methodologies very helpful to students in learning.

Active learning methodologies and active learning classroom techniques provide very smart teaching learning opportunities to teachers. If teacher is able to create an active learning environment in his class, he has to help the students in learning in various ways. Active learning methodologies are able to make teaching very smart and easy. Teachers may use collaborative learning and try to do an exciting experiment in his class. In modern learning environment, we see that “learning” is a more popular word than “teaching”. Teachers have to understand the modern trends in teaching learning process. Teachers have to make learning more interesting and interactive, so that students may learn better.

A teacher may develop student’s personality by various ways.

This year I started it in my school GNMS GHANA TUNDA and getting very positive results in school as well as student’s activity. I used inspirational thoughts given at the end of “Hindi” textbook of all classes, so it became an educational activity also for the students. There are a lot of inspirational thoughts in our textbooks and teachers may build a nice collection of these quotes. I am very happy about this innovative education activity.

Recently I decorated my school two days after the Republic Day celebration. Many people came to me and asked different questions such as:-

Why did you decorate school when the Republic Day has over?

Did you get any order from your senior office to do so?

Do you receive any amount to do so?

I didn’t surprise on these questions because I have been listening such type of questions usually.

A few questions raised in my Mind?

Is there only any National Day is the day when we show our respect to the Nation?

Is it necessary to any order to do something good and new?

Why people consider only money? Why do Gentleness and goodness not be considered?

Certificate in Guidance

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) conducts a 6 months certificate program in guidance. Adjustment is The Key to Happiness

Sometimes when a teacher goes to a new school, he finds a new and changed environment in the new school. If the atmosphere is pleasant in new school he feel better, but if he feel uneasy he compare the old school to the new one and disappointed.

I think this situations arises because the problem of adjustment.

Each and every thing may not be same everywhere. So what should be done?

Should we blame the new environment or we should adjust and enjoy the new environment?

I think that the second step is better.

We have to create our attitude to enjoy the new opportunities and a sound adjusting power.

The better way should be forget the old and enjoy the new.

Adjustment is the key to happiness.
